You know how Snoopy does that happy dance? I’m right there. My name is Mary Eklund and I have found my passion in FourFootPhotography, the fusion of my lifelong devotion to animals, a penchant for storytelling and a crazy obsession with my Canon. I love the endless potential for learning and improving both technically and artistically.
Portrait photography is The. Best. Job. Ever. I shamelessly ogle dogs in the street. I love meeting my furry clients and their parents and hearing their stories, and am honored to bear witness to the powerful bond between human and animal, the connection between siblings, the good natured fun that is your family. We all know two-footed children grow up too fast, and often our time with our four-footed friends is short. Ensuring that the spirit of your family is preserved in a vivid, artistic way, in the perfect way that it is right now, is my most fervent wish. At FFP, I do not discriminate against individuals with only two or three feet - I also love to document human children and families, babies (babies!!!), high school seniors and couples - the emotion of engagements and intimate weddings.
I am passionate about rescue and thrilled to be able to donate my time and talent to the local shelter - Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA. Quality photographs that show the pet's personality do help animals to get adopted.
I shoot mainly in natural light, but can readily accommodate indoor pets - photos taken in a familiar location not only set your pets at ease, but make the resulting images all that much more impactful to the people who love them. I love the late afternoon light for creating beautiful images, so the best time to schedule your session is in the hours just before the sun sets. Not that we have any weather issues in Washington, but if it rains, we will reschedule! If you are interested in lifestyle photography, give me a call or shoot me an email to set up an appointment. In order to devote my full attention to you and your pet, I book a limited number of sessions each month. That said, please, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me if your four-foot is elderly or failing - I will absolutely accommodate. I am beyond excited that you are considering professional portraiture, and am confident we will capture image stories that will bring you joy for years to come. I look forward to hearing from you!
